Can't send text messages.

I'm having trouble sending text messages.

I'm able to send one message after a I restart my phone but that is all. After that if I try to send a message to anyone, I get the status "sending" for a few seconds followed by "failed to send message".

It is odd that I can send picture messages.

It is also odd that on facebook, automatically there is a posting that says "

I'm not available right now, to reach me in an emergency please reply with 'e'"

when someone comments on a post of mine.

I have tried rebooting into safe mode and sending messages. Still have the same problem.

I was using handcent but have removed it.

another odd that that is occurring is some of my google apps will not update. I get the error "insufficient data space" even though my memory card is only half full. I'm not sure if the root cause problem is driving both issues or not.

Anyone else been having trouble with text message on SG3 lately?

(removed) Are you also in the Central/Northern Pennsylvania Region?  I have been having this problem since February 20th for sure.  I have heard from people in Hershey to Scranton having this issue.

The only workaround I have heard so far is to change your mobile networks to CDMA only. (removed)

(Discussion of moderation removed as required by the Terms of Service.)  At best you could be attempting to lean on the accusation that I was attempting to extract personal information, However, I was attempting to help identify a problem within the coverage of a region of a state.  This is hardly identifiable information.  The user discussed an issue that is identical to what I and others, within the 717 and 570 area codes, are currently experiencing.  I did not request part or some of the area code he was within  I was in contact with another individual who had this identical issue but fixed the problem when changing his number to a different area code.

The question was legitimate, within the scope of the TOS, as well as, provided a workout while Verizon got their network together.  Please restore the post or provide justification for the removal. Thank you.

I had responded to your earlier post in trying to confirm I was also within

the 717 area code when the problems first started occurring.

I since traveled to southern MD and then back to upstate new York.

No improvements.

Actually now I'm having trouble getting 4g connectivity.

Ok VZW are you going to look into this issue. We have been without texting in the 717 area code since 2/20/14. This is uncalled for! The internet forums are flooded with people in our area code with the same issue. Replacing sim cards and restoring phone via factory reset does nothing for this issue. Here are something's we have found. Texting works just fine with LTE turned off and the phone set to CDMA only. Toggling airplane mode allows you to send one text and then its broke until you toggle it again, and also which I find the more interesting is that changing your phone number to an area code other than 717 fixes the issue. Please fix this issue for us 717 folks!

I tried manually setting the APN as many forums suggested but works for one

text than back to problem. I haven't been able to connect to 4g lte for the

past week now. Why am I paying for it again?

can you please provide a link for setting the APN? Does the APN switch back after one text?

Coincidentally also a Verizon forum on the same topic. Scroll to the bottom

and there's a link.
