Since the Android 7.0 update today, my main messaging app Telegram is showing a floating pop-up notification at the top of my screen every time I get a message. In Android 6, I was able to disable these pop-ups for each individual app without completely preventing notification sounds and vibrations. I cannot find this option without completely disabling all forms of notification from each app. I've searched through all system settings, all settings in Telegram, and tested everything. I've searched online, and what I'm understanding is that Samsung has purposefully disabled this level of control for notifications.
I need this fixed immediately. What can you suggest to remedy this issue, short of buying a new, non-Samsung phone? I'll go ahead and say right now that this is not a problem with Telegram.
