Hi,
My Samsung Galaxy S6 had a software update yesterday. It is Verizon Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. After update, I can no longer open WeChat. The app close quickly by itself. My WeChat version is 6.2.2. The chat history is very important to me. I tried to clear App cache and restart but it doesn't help. I checked Google Play store and saw a newer version 6.2.4 is available. I hesitate to upgrade App at this moment because I am afraid if not success, it may damage data. Anybody has similar experience and how you solve the problem ?
Thanks a lot

Software updates are intended to provide customers with a better wireless experience. I want to ensure you’re able to use your device and applications on your updated Samsung Galaxy S6 device.
I see you mentioned the WeChat application shows a later version in the Google Play Store on your device. I recommend updating the application http://vz.to/1shbQaD to ensure it is compatible with the latest device software update. Although I cannot guarantee the application data will not be affected by the application update, typically the application data will not be affected. Let me know how the application works after updating to the latest version.

Update WeChat probably is my last resort. Is it possible to revert Verizon software to previous version ? Will this help and how ?
Thanks,

I checked Google Play. There is no compatibility issue mentioned. So I am not sure if update will help.

After much thinking, I decided to give WeChat update a try and it works! After upgrade to WeChat 6.3.15, it just works. I am not sure any fix in 6.3.15 is related to this or a update just solve the problem.
This is the things I tried.
1. Clear WeChat app cache. -> doesn't work
2. Clear System cache. -> doesn't work
3. Update WeChat to a newer version -> OK.
