Everytime a friend sends me a video message over MMS, the video is split into a "slideshow" and the sound plays behind it. The slideshow is really just a single picture of when the video starts. It isn't even full screen on my phone.
I can provide screenshots if neccessary.
Does anyone know what this issue might be? I have tried both the stock messaging app and GO SMS PRO.

Try saving the video first to the phone and then view it from the Gallery app.

There is no video. It's either a jpg or qcp file. For some reason the video is split between the two and not as an mp4 or whatever video format android uses

There might a format compatibility issue, but I'm not as familiar with Apple's iOS system to know if that could be a cause.

Apple uses Quicktime for videos. However I don't think that applies to MMS since I send small videos from my iPhone to a few friends using Android as well as to my wifes droid and they play perfectly.
Now when I receive a video in an email that is another matter. I use a paid program called Azul on my iPhone and I view movies or videos from email that way.
You could always doiwnload the Quicktime Player app from the Google Store and try that. Or it may just be a setting on your phone so look in your owners manual to see if it is covered.
Good Luck
