Clipboard

I'm going to break this question off from my catchall set of newbie questions to see if anyone can answer it. (I'll assume there's no way to get rid of the annoying airplane mode confirmation screen, or change the default touch sound to something other than the splash or drop-hitting-water noise.)

I love the ability to access multiple clips on the Clipboard and do some management of them. I just wish there were some documentation on it. Can anyone enlighten me as to why the Clipboard is available in some apps but not in others, and how I can predict which ones will be able to access it? Thanks!

I have seen that clipboard once, but I don't even know how I got there.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Sorry it took me so long to reply! Clipboard only seems to show up in certain text-entry apps. You can see it in S Memo, for instance: long-press anywhere, and you get a two-item menu, Paste and Clipboard. If you select some text, a 6-item menu appears, though you have to scroll it left to see the final two, one of which is Clipboard.

Tap Clipboard, and you see the 20 most recent clipboard items. You can tap an item to paste it in, or long-press it to get a menu that lets you delete it, lock it to the clipboard, or save it in S Memo.

It's phenomenally useful. I just wish I knew for sure which apps can use it! It shows up, for instance, in Messaging, Email, and Color Note (another memo app). It doesn't appear in QuickOffice Pro. It shows up in the stock Calendar, but not in Business Calendar. It's confusing, but basically it's always worth checking to see if it's available, until you learn which apps support it.
