Clock

Is anyone else having to switch off the automatic clock setting? This morning it was 7:01 and the clock on my phone read 6:46. It's happened before then it rights itself and then it happens again. It handled daylight savings without a problem.

Are You using the stock clock or the original? If you have a task killer just make sure it's not killing the clock task

It's a bar across the bottom with the date on the left and the time on the right.

bar across the BOTTOM? that sounds like a third party app, and would be a problem with that app.

Sorry, yes the one when locked but that also affects the little one up top right when unlocked. And it's not always, sometimes it's right but then messes up again.

In The settings under date and time do you have it set to automatic?

I did. Until it decided to lose a quarter hour. Then I turned it off and have left it off.

What phone do you have? When did you start having this issue?

If you are still having these issues, please reply so we can assist you.

Thanks

A soft reset may resolve the issues outlined on your post for a Samsung Fascinate device. To perform a soft reset on your phone please follow the instructions below:

Remove battery with phone ON. Replace battery after 10 seconds. Power phone ON. Allow phone to complete the applications registration.

Yes, I do have the Fascinate which is why I put this here (Can't believe that was asked. Where's Bill Engvall when you need hIm?). I got the phone Oct last year and have had at leat 3 instances that I remember of this happening.

I just turned back on auto set. If it messes up again I'm going to leave it that way and take it in to the store I got it from. What's the use of having a phone if it can't keep track of the time?

I questioned the phone myself. I didn't know the lock screen could have a clock. Of all the clock widgets I know of on the phone they are all just in the middle of screen, don't know of any that's a bar acrossed the bottom.

I have only had my Fascinate for 2 weeks though.

And you're not using a task killer?  Using any other kind of clock app from the market?  If the answer is no to both of those, then you probably need a factory reset or a new phone.

Yes I have a task killer app. It came with the phone. After going through 2 dozen or more webpages I don't feel like hitting the back button. But it doesn't seem to have anything to do with that app. It's not a conssant daily thing.
