Connecrt Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge to Windows 10 PC

I want to transfer some file from my Windows 10 PC to my new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. I did this successfully a couple weeks ago, but now the phone will not connect as a device on my PC. My wife's phone (also a new S5 Edge) still connects. I'm looking for help with debugging this problem. When I connect a USB cable to the phone, I hear a quick beep from the phone and nothing from the PC; and the phone does not show up as a device on the PC. I have tried this on 2 PCs, with the same results. Help would be appreciated.

Hi Bheavlin, I know it is important to get some transfer information from your computer to your new device. Let me look into this concern. Do you have all the right drivers on your computer to sync up with your new phone? Here’s a link to ensure you have used your operating system recognize the device http://tiny.cc/mpso9x . Thanks for the response. I didn't need Windows drivers because, as I said in my request, my wife's identical phone works correctly on both of the Windows PCs that I tried. The instructions to enable MTP did not work. I did not find the "connected as an installer" box, and could not proceed. Then a funny thing happened. On my 4th or 5th try today, it worked; and it has continued to work. I've connected and disconnected 5 or 6 times and copied some files from Windows to the S6.

I can't call the problem fixed because I have no idea why it started to work, and I can't be confident that it will continue to work.
