Contacts disappeared...Accounts not syncing

Okay, My S3 was perfectly fine this afternoon.  Tonight I look at it, and all of my contacts except for the Facebook contacts have disappeared.  I checked my Verizon page and all of the work numbers that I needed were on the web, thank god.  However, now my Google and Verizon accounts are not syncing.  Yes, I've hit the sync button! 

I've tried going through Setup Wizard again, and reestablishing a connection, but nothing seems to work. 

Any suggestions?

An addendum....I checked my old phone (a Samsung Stratosphere) and the contacts are still there, saved to my phone.  I had saved them all to my SD card and put it into my S3. 

Without a network connection, is it possible to save the contacts to m SD card again and import them into the S3?
