Distortion after update.

After getting the update yesterday, I noticed that the external speaker distorts horribly. Whenever I get a text or a phone call, it sounds like the speaker is blown. This was not an issue before the update at all. I don't ever use the speaker for music or games and my phone is on silent most of the time. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? It seems like every single update this phone gets a whole new batch of problems. I can't wait to get rid of it.

Nothing? Well this phone has presented a ton of problems after the upgrade. Now it likes to restart during phone calls. I can't wait till I can upgrade.

I would like to make sure that the speaker on your phone works the way it should! As you stated you have never used the speakerphone for games or music but have you tested it since the update? I would like to see if this happens only while using the phone. Have you installed any new applications since the update? Try clearing the cache and or data from the phone app.

Clear data and/or cache

If this does not resolve the speaker concern, I would suggest completing a factory reset to clear any corruptions that might have been caused by the software update. Please make sure your contacts and applications are syncing through your Gmail account before proceeding.

Tap Factory Data Reset

Tap Reset Phone

Tap Erase Everything

I just switched to Verizon a couple months ago. Before that I was with USC and had the Mesmerize, which is the same phone as the Fascinate. When they upgraded to Gingerbread, the maximum volume of the phone was increased by quite a bit. This makes it sound distorted if you don't turn it down some.

I now have the Fascinate and when Verizon upgraded, I found the same to be true - the maximum volume is increased, so I needed to turn down the ringer/system volume.

Maybe your issue is different, but I thought my experience worth noting.
