When I get a text with a picture attached, I press the "Download" button, the button goes to "Downloading" and back to "Download." I then cannot find the picture. I did go to settings - storage - downloads - other downloads and found nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Try going into "my files" and then into DCIM.

I tried that. I have picture in there that I took with the camera, but nothing downloaded from any texts. THanks for your quick reply and Happy Holidays. If you think of anything else, please let me know.

Thanks & Happy Holidays. I'm a bit of a novice as his is my first smart phone. Where would I find the text messaging folder?

To be honest, I don't know if that's where your text photos will be or not, but thought it was worth a try since you didn't find them with your other photos or your downloads. I don't have your phone, but with my Motorola, if I get a picture text and want to save the photo, I long-press on the photo and then get a pop-up that lets me choose Save Picture (other options are View and Share); downloading simply downloads the text message to my phone. To then get to the photo, I go to my internal storage, and it's in a folder called Messaging. And Happy Holidays to you as well.

I too have a Motorola, but I just checked my wife's GS3. They are stored in internal memory in a folder named "Download". Gallery should find them and you can look for files with the app Myfiles (it's in the app drawer, the icon that looks like rows of dots).

Good to know ... I know some things are similar on most phones, but some things are different.

Did you try going to your "download" folder? It is in your app drawer as well. Once in there you'll have 2 options: internet downloads and other downloads. It should be under other downloads.
Happy Holiday to you too.

Are hitting download while on wifi? With Verizon you have to have mobile data on. The picture will then download and after you click on it you can save it to your phone.

Thanks for the tip. I was always on wi-fi only when attempting the downloads. These forums are great. Happy Holidays!
