Email Not Working After Update

Completed the latest update this morning and now my email is not working.  When I select the icon I get a message that email has stopped and it closes.   I have gotten it to work once but only for a  few minutes.  Anyone else having the same problem?

Basically same w/my S5 also. I also get "Email not responding." message. And I was laughing at Apple for their aborted upgrade. Never again. What's the story Verizon? Are you listening?

Having access to your email is very important castilloam28, let's find out what's going on. What email provider do you use? Have you tried deleting and re-adding it? If it's a Yahoo! account, please download the application from the App Store instead of using the Email setting.

I'm having the same problem.  Try to open the native email app and I get a blank screen.  Can't do a thing with it.  Help!

Hi Jfj.jfj,

Oh no! A blank screen is no good. Which email icon are you tapping on to open the email application? Have you tried force closing the application? Go to settings>app manager/applications/all/"email applicaton"/clear cache & force close.

Thanks,

This doesn’t work. I assume it’s the native android email application. It’s the icon with the red ‘@’ in the middle of a white envelope. It doesn’t show up in the list of applications in the application manager.

When I select Settings/Accounts/Email and try to do anything there like manage my accounts or change settings, I get a blank screen as well. Clearly there’s a bug in the latest S5 update. Anybody working on this problem?

Oh wow! Let's make sure that we figure this out. We can try placing the device into safe mode and then trying the email application to see if a third party application may be causing the trouble. Otherwise, if caused by the update we can try a hard reset to re-install the update, so to speak. Take a look here to see how to place the device into Safe Mode http://vz.to/1rejxXb. I am not going to perform a hard reset and lose all my settings and apps etc. just to fix a problem that was introduced by the last system update. This was not introduced by a third party application. This problem occurred immediately after installing the last system update. I'll find another email application. In the meantime, you need to fix this bug in the next update or I won't be installing any more updates and will re-think being on an android platform.
