I just got this phone yesterday and I am already having technical problems!?  When an email comes in and I open it, the message goes away and does not stay in my inbox.  Also sometimes messages i got on my computer do not ever show up in my inbox.  Can someone please help me out

Not knowing your email client on your phone, or how it is set to handle email, we can only guess.

If you are using Gmail and are set to sync with Gmail, then when you delete the email on your phone, it is deleted on the Gmail servers. If your home computer is set to sync also, if it is deleted off the Gmail servers, then it will be deleted off your home computer. If your home computer is not set to sync, but only to check for new emails every (say) 10minutes, if you delete it on your phone, thus deleting it on the Gmail server, all in the time inbetween checks from your home computer, then there would be nothing for your home computer to download.

When you say an email comes in and you open it, the message goes away, does this mean that you cannot read it on your phone, or after you read it and then close it, it is no longer in your inbox? If it is the latter, then maybe you are somehow deleting it instead of just closing it.

Thx!  my email is comcast.  Is there something I need to check on that?  I can either see an email in inbox and then it disappears once i view it or it never shows up at all

You have a Verizon 3G phone. No Verizon 4G phones have been released yet.

Verizon does not currently have any 4G (LTE) phones available for sale yet so to answer your question yes, you have a '3G' type phone.

I have comcast and had exact same problem.

To fix, I deleted 'all' email data and cached data which effectively deleted my comcast account.

Then, next time I started 'email' app, it prompted me for my comcast info again.

Since doing that, its been working OK. ie. I've been getting and sending emails and have been able to

view them.

I deleted account and data by doing the following:

Menu

Settings

Applications

Manage applications

Scroll down to 'Email' app and tap.

First  'Clear cache'.   NOTE:   after doing this you can try your email again.  If it works, you're done.

If not, repeat steps and continue on to next step...'clear data'.

If clear cache does not work, then  'Clear data'.  This WILL Remove your email account.

Then, go back to home screen, then applications, then start email app.

Re-enter your comcast email address, password...name for account...etc.

Once started, tap 'load more messages' to retrieve any pending emails.

Disclaimer:   Like I said, this fixed problem for me, your mileage may vary.
