Flashing light after update

Right after my Galaxy 3 did its update, my phone started randomly flashing once, as if I were taking a flash picture. It does it in the middle of the night, while charging, while not charging, whenever. This morning the utility light went on by itself at 5:45am. I thought maybe it was something with the app Cerebus, but it is too coincidental that it started right after the update. I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't keep the phone next to my bed at night. Any ideas Samsung or Verizon?

I too have a Galaxy S3 and had the update installed yesterday. Since then i have had nothing but problems as well. from rapid battery drain, to the flash going off at random times for no reason. I do hope that someone from verizon will work out this problem and soon!

Also, i used to love the feature on the notifications bar when a text message came in it gave a preview of the mesage and who it was from, now i get the text message icon, but it just says "New Message", and a large banner appeas across the main scree with the same message. how do i go back to the old way?

I used to love my phone but now i dread having to use it.

Regarding text preview: open the text app, then press the menu button, then Settings. Are Notifications and Preview Message checked?

Thanks, will let you know if that does NOT fix the problem. So far so good. Hope that stops all flashing, not just from calls.
