Ford Sync after update

I need some help.  After the s4 update the other day, I noticed that my Ford Sync system now does not connect to the bluetooth stereo option.  It connects to the phone, however I no long have the ability to connect and listed to music via the bluetooth option.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Any info on how to make this work again?  I've went through the factory reset and to no avail, it didn't work.

thanks for the help.

Hello and happy Sunday jmix18,

I'm happy to see that you have the latest update on the Galaxy S 4. This update adds some key enhancements so you can get the most out of your device. I'm also glad to see that the bluetooth connectivity is working for the phone service with your S4. May I ask what model Ford vehicle do you have? Also, what feedback to you get from vehicle when trying to play music? As you share the details then we can look into this further for you.

Thank you...

I have a 2011 Ford Edge. It has the MyFordTouch system. It seems as

though under the Paired Bluetooth device profiles, I can't check the "Media

audio" but can only check the "Call Audio."

I get nothing from the vehicle - it can't/won't connect to the device - but

will connect to the phone...

Overall, I wish I could go back to what I had before the update.

Everything worked great and now I can't even listen to my music or

audiobooks.... This does not make me happy.

Thanks for the help.

jmix18, sorry for the inconveniences that the software update created. Let's see if we can find a work around. Do you have an auxillary input in your vehicle? I recommend that you purchase an auxillary plug which connects your device to your vehicle. This is how I listen to audio books and music downloaded to my device, in my vehicle.

Lasina_VZW's suggestion to use a cable to play music from your phone totally defeats the purpose of blue tooth.  Who wants to mess with a cable in the middle of the car?  I have never had a problem connecting and playing music in my car either before or after the update.

I understand the dilemma of the limited functionality with your bluetooth.  Our support for bluetooth is limited to our bluetooth accessories and headsets.  You will need to reach out to the car kit manufacturer for further support.  Here's a link to SYNC Support page: http://ford.to/13I9mTE.  Thanks!

I had my S4 working great with my Ford Edge Sync, then it just stopped working.  Then only way I could get the blue tooth working again was to do a fuse pull (in the manual it is fuse 29).  That hard re-set the sync and after I restarted my S4 I was able to get the connection going again. I had tried doing a re-set from the sync screen but this did not work and I had to do a hard re-set.  It's not hard to pull the fuse.
