I actually see the opposite... The longer it takes the more people are talking about it... They hype of the device is actually going up whether positive or negative. If it is negative and the device comes out and everything works better especially with previous LTE devices radio and battery life then sales are going to go through the roof.

Actually the holdup is a dispute between Verizon and Google over to Google wallet.

Show something other than speculation on that statement. Google nor Verizon has said the delay is from Wallet. They have yet to say a thing and people are speculating over it. If it was something like the wallet then it would be out right now, but it isn't.

phandroid and all those sites regurgatate the same information over and over again from each other. None have shown some official document and they say "We talked to someone from XYZ and he said this" One site actually posted a source with a NAME which the person does work there, BUT if he did in fact said that more than likely will get fired(due to a Non Disclosure Agreement) if it was true he told them that which it isn't front page of the news as of yet.

Sorry as a programmer seeing that the LTE version is on 4.1, and the GSM version is at 4.0.1 shows there is more source code involved than Google Wallet. Google wallet is easy to install and remove and can be downloaded and installed from the market(which you need a Sprint Nexus S to do) so a major revision going from 4.0.1 to 4.1 has NOTHING to do with Wallet. Wallet isn't even part of the source code...

Someone went on the record from Google stating to that fact. He isn't that high up. With the NDA's these people have to say why isn't he fired if it was true, and if he did in fact leaked the information... Think about it...

It has little to do with Wallet. If it was about Wallet they could still release the phone without wallet installed. They could further work on the deal to put wallet on the device from the market like the Nexus S... There's more to it than just the wallet, and the Android version should be a dead give away.

Technically 4.0 to 4.0.1 is a bug-fix revision, 4.0 to 4.1 is considered a minor revision, 4.0 to 5.0 would be a major revision... I fully agree with you, however, about the speculation (over-hyped speculation even) on the wallet issue, and the fact that if it were simply wallet, it could be removed or added easily and would not warrant a hold-up in the release.

True but the way Google does their revisions 4.1 could very well be considered a major revision, but also a minor revision. It's so hard to say with them at times.

Links were good reading, but these "news blogs" are not reputable news sources.

If I cared about the GN, I would speculate that after the flops that the Thunderbolt and Bionic were and the issues with the Razr, maybe VZW wants to avoid another high profile disappointment.

The comments sections of these links make me laugh. The threats and insults directed at VZW for making these impatient children wait in anticipation (and in their minds, unnecessarily) for this phone defy logic.

It's kinda hard to think positive thoughts when nobody is saying anything about the phone...I, on the other hand, am trying to patiently wait, but wish Verzion would say something...nothing specific, but SOMEthing.

Going from 2.2(Froyo) to 2.3(Gingerbread) was considered a major revision. Why would going from 4.0 to 4.1 NOT be considered a major revision?

Thanks for the BULL**** reply. Everyone knows this device is sitting in the back at the stores. So you're saying that if a problem is found during your "rigorous" testing that all of those phone are going to be returned to be fixed? This phone has been floating around for TWO MONTHS how have the bugs not been worked out already? Several people were able to pick one up last weekend and guess what, they aren't complaining about any issues with their phone. What is so wrong with this phone that Verizon won't give any "official" response!?

Saw the droid Razr pricing went down $130, maybe this is a good sign meant to try to sell more droids when the expensive galaxy comes out. Have never heard of a carrier jerking around its customers this bad. Ridiculous.

It usually takes a while for it to appear on the VZW news site.

The wording on the press releases embedded in the two articles I posted had the phone released "today" and the press release was dated for December 15 which is tomorrow. I will be checking the Verizon Wireless website tomorrow.

Well, I actually got an email from VZW at 12:12 am saying that the Galaxy Nexus phone was available. The press release isn't on the news release page. However, it is definitely available in the list of smartphones for sale.

I played with one in the store today, and after about ten minutes, and not being able to find the option for swype, I wonder if this really will be my next phone come January? It really seems "meh."

Swype isn't compatible with the Galaxy Nexus' screen resolution yet. Swype is working on the update, but it will be available as a beta. I doubt that it would ever be preinstalled on a Nexus phone, unless Google bought them.
