Ever since the update build # JZ054K.I535VRBMF1 my GPS stoppped working. I cleared maps cache, rebooted phone and I even rolled back google maps and it still doesn't work, so it isn't google maps causing this issue. My GPS worked okay before the update.
Any suggestions or is there a way to roll back to previous build #?
Thank you
Cathy

Hi,
I pulled the battery & SIM card, waited about a minute. Put both back & now the GPS is working.

Hello and happy Sunday Cathy_McM
GPS is easily one of the most popularly used service on a smartphone. I can certainly understand how important it is to have this service working accurately as often as possible. Let's get this taken care of as quickly as possible for you. May I ask are other services that uses GPS working? Popular apps like Facebook, Twitter, Four Square all uses GPS in the services that they offer. If not then the first step is to ensure that GPS services are enabled under settings. If they are then the next step is a factory reset. Steps on how to perform the reset are found in this link, http://vz.to/LfV00q. As always, we suggest backing up your personal info prior to completing the reset. Once you have done so, please retest the GPS services before restoring your personal info. Please keep us posted, just in case more help is needed.
Thank you...

Hi Arnett,
My GPS doesn't work period. I turn in on and the status just sits at searching for GPS. Is Backup Assistant still available for my phone contacts? If this is a hardware issue, how would a factory reset fix this? How do I test the hardware?

Hi Cathy_McC,
Woo Hoo! I am so excited to hear that your GPS is working again. A battery pull is normally one of the first steps in troubleshooting an issue if your device comes with a removable battery. If you have any additional issues just let us know.
Have a great day!

The phone call signal and gps signals were not so good. I did tighten the screws on the inside of the gs3. Only 1 needed to be tightened and the signal is MUCH better. I now get phone, data & gps signals in places I didn't before. Thanks for this tip.
