I am beyond irritated that as the flagship of exactly one year, Verizon continues to provide less than vague answers as to when we will be receiving this update. I used to laugh at Sprint as a provider and swore that I'd never consider AT&T again as an option. However, I have been awaiting Android 5.1.1 since June this year and have watched carries such as Spring and AT&T release 5.1.1 to their customers. At this point, considering I pay about $125/month, I have been investigating other carriers and their service records and can honestly say, I am considering paying the fee to break my contract with Verizon to receive support and tech that keeps current. In my estimation, Verizon should be offering credit to those of us that have been waiting months to receive this update to our [removed] devices which haven't worked properly since 5.0.1 was released. I've been a customer with Verizon for 10+ years and can honestly say I have never been so disappointed with the service or lack thereof. Get with it Verizon. Stop treating your customers, whom are probably paying the highest bills based on the handset of their choice, like second rate piles of [removed].
I'm rather curious how much time and money was spent on Verizon creating their fancy new logo - perhaps the developers, designers and others on that team should have focused their energy on testing and releasing the update for their note 4 customers.
VERIZON FAIL!!!!!

Touchwiz rooms average 10Gb in size especially for note line. If your other is greater than 10GB then a simple search should tell you what is taking up all that space. Anyway best of luck if you think your device is broken because of what you see. Be nice to have a screen shot to make sure.

It tells me that there was an error uploading (I downscaled the images and they are 200KB at most). Anyway, there's a GDrive link.

If you looked I bet you can find what OTHER could be. It affected the S3, S4, S5, Note 2, Note 3, and Note 4.

And where's all this space TouchWiz is taking? It tells me it's about 5MB total, including data.

Touchwiz is more than the launcher. One of the reason why the root community want stock Android or close to stock. Simply the size of these skins exceed 6GB in most cases nowadays. The Z5 line for example all the stock software from Sony takes up 10.4GB out of the box.

Yup I was right. The system says that's the sdcard not your actual storage space. That's how Google coded the storage. Ask someone who owns a Nexus to use that app and you will see the same result.

Your internal storage screenshot is correct. That's how the system tells the app what you have as an pseudo sdcard. The rest is reserved by the system for updates and such as well as the OS itself with its partitions. Ask any Nexus user to use the app and you'll see the same results showing less than the total storage of the phone

Hmm. I guess that makes sense. A little ridiculous, but oh well. This phone is still definitely software defective, and I think a replacement is definitely in the near future. I can't have this phone lasting less than a day until next November, when I can get a new phone.

your note 4 may be crippled with 5.0.1 but that doesn't mean you deserve a free replacement, lol.

And why not? If I have a defective device, because of an update, I think there's reason for a replacement. Since the device is defective because of software, and not because it's a botched handset, then a new one of that model isn't going to help. The people at Verizon were probably just tired of having people complain.

I disagree
A newer year model is not warranted.
You could always send the phone to samsung and have them examine it.

Multiple people have done that, and have gotten their device back with a clean hardware report. I personally haven't done that (yet), but I do have a replacement phone and replacement battery, so it's already somewhat hard to believe that it's a hardware issue. Then, on top of that, a family member got a Note 4 in August and it has even more lag and drain than mine (and I'm the power-user). 3 phones from my personal experience pointing towards software issues. Multiple phones on this thread pointing to software issues. Multiple phones on Reddit pointing to software issues. Multiple phones on Android Forums pointing to software issues. Multiple phones on XDA pointing to software issues. Samsung ain't gonna find jack.

Went on Verizon Facebook page and posted a complaint. They messaged me and
had me do a factory reset. After that didn't work they sent me a new note
4. No insurance was needed. Phone is still on 5.0.1 but works much better
for now.

I just did the same, and they're sending me a replacement Note 4. At this point, I'm just going through the motions. The guy was super nice, but didn't seem to know much about the software debacle, or much about the Note 4. He said the new one may/may not be on 5.0.1. I guess it's a step. I'd be irritated about reloading all of my apps/data, but I haven't installed much of anything since the last reset and request to keep limited to factory apps.

I've spent mine to Samsung.
It was tested and I was told the hardware functions per spec.
I first started noticing weak radio issues a week after I got the Note 4.... Tech support had me convinced it was a bad handset and by the time I tried the 3 Sims, a refurb exchange Note 4, 2 more Sims in that, a month had gone by and the store would no longer take my original N4 back.
I loved my Note 2, which is why I wanted the newer model.
Have you ever been told to buy another phone to replace a phone you just purchased?
I have!
