Is there a way to turn off notification sound for e-mail (Gmail in particular) while keeping notification sound on for text?
I want to know when I receive a text, but don't want to be checking my phone every time I get an e-mail.
Have you looked in the Gmail application settings itself?
Gmail > menu > settings > your email address > inbox sound & vibrate
