Galaxy S23 Ultra no Internet when on 5G UW mode.

I just switched my phone from a Galaxy S9+ to an S23 Ultra. Nice upgrade right? Wrong.

My S23 Ultra has no internet when it is in 5G UW mode or when signal drops to 4G LTE.

I have internet connection when I am in regular 5G mode but when I have 5G UW- absolutely everything that uses data stops working- Internet browsers and apps.

I have tried the following with no positive results:

-insert/re-insert sim card.

-toggle network modes (none worked other than verizon)

- toggle Ultra Wideband mode. Even turned off, my phone still goes into 5G UW mode.

-toggle mobile data

-reset network/settings

-reboot phone

-power off phone

-airplane mode on/off

If anyone has any luck with figuring out how to get internet to work with 5G UW mode or even turning off UW all together please help.

I actually solved my problem a few days ago. Verizon tried to help solve the problem from what I listed in the original post but it did not solve the problem.

My Co-worker who is a Samsung technology fan boy helped me solve the problem.

What you'll need to do is download from the Google play store "Samsung Band Selection." Open the app and go to "more network settings" then tap "Verizon" for the SIM settings.

Next, go to "preferred network type" and select "LTE." This will enable your phone to go into 4G LTE mode.

This was a sure fire win for me. But you'll have to switch it back to 5G when you get to an area you know for a fact that you'll have good service.

Where I work, I think I'm at the end of the 5G UW frequency and my phone can't quite get the connection and since the phone is in "5G preferred" mode, even if you have 4G LTE signal, the phone will act like, "nah, I'll hold off until I get 5G service" and it won't let you connect to 4G internet.

But with the Samsung Band Selection trick, the phone will now accept the 4G internet connection.

The crazy thing is, Verizon's troubleshooting for switching it to LTE mode (settings>connections> mobile network> network operators> LTE) doesn't work for the S23 Ultra because there is NO LTE mode when I try it. It worked for another Co-worker that had a Verizon iphone who was experiencing the same thing as I was.
