if anyone experiences issues after updating your phone with the newest SW update that was rolled out last week, go to this web site and read what it has to say.
There is an app called "caller ID app" which is apparently rolled out with this release. It is believed to cause the issues as described in the article. i was having issue with my phone after updating it last week and spent hours with Verizon and with Samsung trying to find out what caused it.
I found the caller ID app and was able to turn the service off, but I can not delete that app. if you turn the service off for the caller ID app, the phone seems to work as normal before the update.

You can't delete the app that they stuck in the update. You can disable it so it takes it out of your app drawer. You may want to also go to the web My Verizon and see if they opted you into the service there. They did me.

That is why I don't update a phone if what I have is working the way I want it. If I do decide the update will benifit the phone then I wait about 3 months to see what the problems the update brings and then make the decision to update or not. These forums are full of problems people have with their phones after applying an update to them.

Thanks! disabling Caller ID app seems to have increased by 4G speeds back to normal and the annoying notification bar bug is gone, where both WiFi and 4G icons displayed. I shall test battery life and 4G more.

It helps, but sometime the drain comes back. I also have issue with outbound texts taking 9mins to send. Inbound are instant. Thank god for Viber and Google voice.
It still drops my data connection to where I have to reboot to get a 3 or 4G connection.
