Some times use my S3 with mobile hotspot to connect work HP3460 laptop if I need to leave house. Lets say Im gone ONE hour. I may have to reconnect my VPN 3 times. Why .... ??? Because my hotspot keeps losing connection, even if only for a second or two .. And then VPN disconnects. I have my laptop sitting on the car backseat and I can hear it moment VPN drops due to mobile hotspot disconnecting. I need to STAY consistently online so this makes for a very poor customer experience. Note: I pay personally for my cell coverage. The laptop is my employers.

I realize the importance of staying connected, let's see what's causing the problem! In most cases your device is set to automatically time out due to inactivity. Which is in place to help conserve your data. You can change you settings to "never turn-off". Here's how: Settings>Tethering & Mobile Hotspot>Mobile Hotspot Settings>Inactivity Timeout>Never Turn-Off. I am confident this information is helpful.
