Ok, I have seen several posts about people who want the Samsung Galaxy S4 with 32 or 64gb internal memory & I have seen the replies from people saying, "Are you sure you need 64GB internal? It supports up to a 64gb SD card". And to this I say you’re darn right I do. It's personal preference. Some of us want a Smablet (Smartphone phone & tablet combo). Sooooo VZW, put the darn 32s & 64s out there so those who want it can buy it. Apple did but ruined that by not having removable storage. Go figure??? If you have to reset that phone there goes your data. I guess you could back it up on your pc but any recent data would be lost. Don't tell us that it's only offered as 16 GB internal cause it would cost too much or wouldn't sell. It will sell so I hope this gets around. I know corporate is hearing from me. Can we get those 32/64 GB models PLEASE!!!!! ??? Unfortunately, VZW probably will not See this link http://www.sidhtech.com/news/64gb-samsung-galaxy-s4-verizon-sprint-tmobile-att-2/1004252/

Guess what? At&T is coming out with the 32gb version on May 10th. http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/06/samsung-gs4-att-32gb/ You know there are more than a few customers who are mad right now because they took a new contract on the 16gb version. The worst part is they cannot return their phones because it's outside AT&T's 14 day return policy. I think Verizon is going to do the same tactic in the end. My suggestion is to skip their phones until they come out with 32gb and 64gb. I've been with them 12 years and I'm ready to leave because they offer no real storage solutions for people who are not clueless and recognize that apps can only be installed on internal memory. To add insult to injury, the 16gb S4 only has about 9gb of useable space due to the bloatware these carriers are forcing on the phone.

I totally agree with you PDawg2013. I will wait till they get their act together with the internal memory. I have been with vzw since they existed. I also date back to the "Brick" analog cell. Thing weighed about 7lbs & had this huge antenna on it. I also found out about the true internal formatted usable storage so for people like us the 32s & 64s are a must. I think we should keep active on the posts about this. I have contacted a person I know in vzw corporate & I am waiting for their help too.

I'm only posting this because of my recent terrible experience with a Verizon rep. I recently talked with an AT&T rep. They are shall I say more that accommodating if you are willing to switch to them. The fact that the 32gb version is available tomorrow May 10th is a big sell when I have to wait 3 more weeks if I stay on Verizon according to everything I have read. When I asked the Verizon rep if there was anything they could do to keep me a customer while holding on to a phone for 3 weeks when I could switch to the phone I want tomorrow the rep said one word "Nope." His only suggestion was that they have a bundle for extra $ that I could look into.
Talk to reps for other companies they will bend over backwards. Mentions of waiving all fees for coming over. Discounted plans and even free mico sdhc cards.

VZW discontinued the S3 32gb as they said it did not sell well and they have never as yet offered the Note 2 in 32gb, I can only use a 32 gb or larger internal memory and require a 64 gb sd card for music and photos. I can't move to another carrier as the service of other carriers stinks where I live.

I sympathize with you on this subject japetty. I cannot go to Sprint or T-Mobile because their reception stinks too but AT&T might work for me. Why does AT&T spend the extra money to get the larger models but VZW does not??? What doesn't add up with this whole topic is that all of Europe & other countries sell the Samsung Galaxy S4 Black Mist 64gb internal memory 64gb external memory, but are not being sold in the US??? Why not? They sell in Europe & other countries so they should sell in the US. I believe it is being done for the reason Pdawg2013 is listing...They are selling the S4 16gb now & later release a 32 or if we are lucky a 64gb model so then there's double profit for VZW. I am going to get a friend with an AT&T smartphone & ask them to come to my house & see if their service works. If it does this lifetime member of VZW will leave & go to another carrier who will provide the products I need. Since I have been with VZW from the time they were born & before that Bell Atlantic Nynex Mobile, I feel I deserve to have the option to choose the device I want not the device VZW wants me to have.

Good Luck with your endeavor. I have been with VZW ever since it came out of the union of them buy GTE. I was on GTE in CA ever since AT&T quit doing business as a TDMA company and started the GSM. In fact the first phone I had on GTE was just an analog phone. VZW don't care about that though as they get new customers every day. No big deal to lose a customer here and there. Like I say though I still have my G3 with 32gb and 64gb sd card and I am am looking at a used one which I may purchase soon.

Did they fix S-Voice on the S3 like on the S4 ? I think an update did that. Is this correct ? Maybe I should get an S3 w/32gb too. S-Voice was a train wreck at first but from demonstrations I've seen on the S4 it looks impressive. I thought I heard S-Voice for the S4 is now the same as whats on the S3s. What do you think ?

I have the 16 gb on order but am having serious reservations about the limitation of only having 9 gb or whatever will be left for applications. That isn't a lot of space these days! I have a 32 gb iphone now and it only has 2 gb left. Granted I can expand the space on the S4 but only for file storage...not applications.
I may have to cancel my order and wait to see if they'll offer a 32 gb version. I'm already a bit bent out of shape that they are the last large US company to get the phone. I don't need a company to be on the cutting edge but middle of the pack would be nice. Last? No bueno.

Yeah. With having a 32gb & only 2 gb left you need the larger internal space. Problem is, will they ever get a 64gb S4? I have my doubts & it is a shame. We have such technology out there & the big providers are limiting us to really nice phones with so little internal storage. I'm trying to get some answers from corporate. I think I'll call them now & see what they have to say about this whole mess. Hang in there CntryGyNSD.

AFAIK VZW discontinued selling the S3 32gb so that leaves a used S3 if you can find someone willing to part with theirs just yet or maybe an ebay retailer which bought them all up and maybe offer them at higher prices than before since VZW discontinued them when I went to buy my S3 32gb last year 3 stores I went to did not offer them and they told me I would have to order it online. I even checked with the 2 Best Buys in town and they did not carry the S3 32gb. You need to be more patient and see what they offer. Summer will tell us more of what they may offer in the S4 arena beside the S4-16gb. Oh and what is the point of all the bold type fonts in all your posts anyway. Just don't see the point here.

you're not going to get a 64 gig model on verizon, and if we get a 32, it will be a while down the road. smart phones are just like pc's. by the time they are on the shelves, the hardware is out of date, but the manufacturers have to get rid of it. if you go out and buy the best pc (as far as specs go) that just released the prior week, you are buying 1-2 year old technology, and they are already working on (if not manufacturing) the next nicest one. they could easily give us 64 gig devices, but then what do they do with all of the 16 and 32 gig drives?

He should easily get that on other networks by Summer from what I have read, just not on VZW and maybe not even a 32gb on VZW. They have never offered the Note 2 in anything but 16gb and the S3 32gb gb can no longer be purchased from VZW.

Thanks Starman, it really stinks that there is no information. I'm tired of Verizon keeping everything so close forcing their customers to hold off indefinitely or buy something that doesn't fully meet their needs. It is impossible to make an informed decision! What if the rumors are true and they have no intention of carrying the 32 gb? If we were informed we could choose to buy the 16 gb, buy a different phone that does meet our needs or leave and go with a company whose policies dictate that they provide choices to their customers in a timely fashion. Instead we are here discussing what we should do and speculating as to what Verizon's next move will be.
I understand withholding information on a phone that is yet to be released but THIS ONE HAS BEEN FOR SOME TIME! I would sure like to be a fly on the wall in their boardroom when some exec thought this was the right way to launch a phone that will ultimately make them money (not right away I understand) and to treat their customers. So sad.

Gottamoblie keeps regurgitating for a few weeks now that same article they posted with ZERO source validation other than "Verizon". I can not find one corporate rep to say if they will or will not carry it. The way Gotta worded what the "source" said, it came across as conjecture-speculation-guessing, ie: BS.
That said, my "glass is half empty" side thinks VZW has no current intent on selling the 32gb and they are trying to charge the same price as last year for the 32gb version. More money for them, if they think all their customers are naive enough to fall for it and believe their FALSE information you can install apps or move app data to the sd card.
Verizon,
You could be profoundly dropping the ball here so hard, it comes right up and smacks you in the proverbial face. YOU ARE MISLEADING CUSTOMERS and being UNPROFESSIONAL as a result. Not the best combo for customer trust- Not being forthright and telling customers that the 16GB is alright with an sd card to install apps. How can content experts be so misguided?

Not sure how else to post it, but misinformation still propogates, even in this thread.
1. The S3 32 was retired to make room for other devices and to focus on the 16GB S3 as an entry for the segment ($99 or less) and NOT due to 32GB sales.
2. Verizon CSR staff are apparently ignorant telling customers they can place apps on the SD card. You can NOT do this with Jellybean OS. Android removed the feature in part due to carrier requests, because customers not understanding why apps would vanish or stop working was due to their card swapping or buying poor quality micro sd cards.
There have been complaints registered to Verizon customer service misleading customers on a UNIFORM basis in stores, chat and phone. This apparent effort to mislead customers would seem to suggest Verizon really does have no intent on selling the 32GB for as long as they can. Seems like a misleading sales pitch line to support the 16GB instead.
It appears corporate is supporting the BS that Verzon CSR staff are telling customers. Else, why the uniform "ignorance"?

Starman54,
I just finished a weekend in the VZW store trying to get a phone downgraded and was given the "why don't you upgrade?" line. The corporate store in Fredericksburg and Stafford, Virginia are still trying to push the 16gb with 64gb expansion for apps lie. I asked them to prove it to me and they were made a fool in front of many customers when I put them on the spot in the store. The CSR then came back with the tired line that we talked about earlier: "Well you can store your apps to the VZW cloud!". I then asked him, "Isn't that going to cost data?". His face got red because the other three customers looked at him kind of angry because they just got duped into purchasing 8 and 16 GB phones on family share plans. I laughed all the way out the door as more people asked him about legitimate storage solutions and why the CSR's were intentionally lying about app storage. I think the manager would have shot me if I hadn't made them look so stupid. I did get asked why I was unhappy and I told them basically that the push to use their cloud storage and no real legitimate storage options is driving me away. I actually went out to AT&T and bought the LG Optimus G Pro outright to test the service on a month to month basis. It has 32 gbs of internal memory (23GB useable after OS and bloatware) and is really a decent phone. I'm more than likely going to return it after the Google I/O because I hear the Nexus 4 will be upgraded to more storage (32 and 64GB) and LTE for AT&T and T-Mobile. They are saying VZW will not get any more Nexus devices because of the debacle of the Samsung Nexus on VZW. New phones and VZW do not go hand in hand. By the way, AT&T has great download speeds for me in VA. They have two types of 4G (HSPA+ and LTE) and I get HSPA+ at the house. It's about 4-6mb down and 2-3 mb up. It's right on par with VZW until I go into Washington, DC. Then AT&T puts a hankering on VZW. Pulled 40mb down and 33mb up on AT&T LTE. Oh how things change in a year.....lol. Hear is an independent group that tests data/call quality on all the networks in every major metro in the US. http://www.rootmetrics.com/ Good luck on your search for a good phone on VZW, because if things keep going like they are, I'll be leaving and paying the 150 dollars for the ETF to leave after about 16 years with these clowns.

Simple solution - use your phone to store apps (since you can redownload them from the Android store at any time if you need to switch devices) and then just use the SD card for your transferable media (photos, music, etc). I hear people complaining about the "space left for apps" on the 16GB version, but it's like .. are people REALLY going to download so many apps on their phone that they're going to fill up the entire remaining 8GB? Most apps are LESS than 50MB!!! I always back up my devices (photos, music, etc) so I have no complaints about using an SD card. Realistically, no one should use a full 8GB for JUST apps - that's ridiculous. As for not being able to transfer apps between storage, you can thank Android for that bc it's an issue with the Jellybean software (as someone CORRECTLY mentioned in a previous comment) - it has nothing to do with Verizon and if reps are telling you that, then it's obviously a mistake on their end. HOWEVER, I went with my boyfriend when he picked up his S4 from T-Mobile, and the T-Mobile reps were telling him the exact same thing - that he COULD save apps to the SD card. It honestly just sounds like there was some miscommunication between Samsung/Android and the carriers.
I've been an avid iPhone user since the release of the first 3G and have had every model since. At this point in the game, having more "internal storage" is not enough for me to stick around. The Galaxy S4 is an excellent device and far better than any iPhone I've ever owned. I am patiently waiting to make the switch next month for my upgrade. Not happy with Verizon? Stop crying about not being able to get a new phone yet, switch carriers, and get on with life.
