Can we please get a update as to when we are going to get the 4.3 update? I see others getting updates but why not us?

That update isn't for Android 4.3 OS. It is some bug fixes and remains on 4.2.2 for the Android version.

You are not really expecting an answer are you? Not like they care about us, since they already sold us phones. I plan on this being my last phone from VZW. Need a Nexus device to avoid slow updates.
I have a nexus tablet and everyone there is waiting and complaining they are not getting KitKat 4.4 it never stops. The only device I have which I don't hear complaints about updates is the one with CM10 and it is the best device I have at this time.

One of there reps told me (in a chat) that today was the day the 4.3 update was coming to the Galaxy S4... Maybe aditional training would be good for your CS Reps with all the money your taking in service charges that are widely inflated...

I just installed the 4.2.2 update that was available and battery life has taken a huge hit - I used to be 35-40% at the end of the day (9pm), now I generally have to charge by 5pm after an overnight charge. I realize I'm about to hijack this thread to a different topic, but, this place seems as good as any to get some advice/answers :smileyhappy:
This appears to be when Samsung is releasing to VZW, now is VZW just goes along with the schedule and lets it move on out to the end user. Don't think I will hold my breath till it happens though. Hope for the best case scenario.

No, this looks like the actual rollout, since they are updating for Samsung Gears support. I am guessing it is staggered since the servers would not be able to roll the software to all the devices at once. It is most likely setup based upon # of devices per carrier and who is making Sammy the most money.
If it takes this long, my S4 will likely be a year old before it sees Kit Kat 4.4.
This is not an announcement by VZW and VZW will announce the update or it maybe won't happen when you think. Until VZW announces the UPDATE it is just a rumor.
that is a leak and im sure it is subject to change. given verizon's history of updates i will believe it when i see that is up and im downloading it. until then we get the update when we get it.

Probably because Verizon can not live up to expectations again!!! Looks like Samsung lived up to their promise getting it out...but Verizon is taking their time as usual. They don't care about the customers wants....they make money no matter whether they put the update out tonight or in a year from now...and customers will complain but they will stay with Verizon anyway. Maybe if they would start losing customers they might start listening to their remaining customers.
I think this will be my last 2 years with Verizon. I'm paying $110 plus fees, taxes and for what? Crossing fingers AT&T has better coverage for where I live. This is what happens when a company gets too big, they get heavy handed.
Well the update has been released. It is going out over OTA. might be on the VUA program you use when you plug in your phone as well as Kies. probably better to connect to wifi and check it through settings then about phone then software update though. it's the 4.3 update. So those not happy about it can start complaining about where 4.4 is lol.

Yes, I have it on mine as well but I am waiting to let it install. Glad I checked here to see first and already issues. I am guessing you may need to do a reset after the install. I would imagine but I am waiting to see what others say. I hope this thing is not a disastrous thing like we got last year on the SIII which almost made the SIII useless for for some SIII phone users. I learned from that not to go out and install the latest greatest until other have it working OK. I am very amazed VZW stay with the Samsung schedule though. Maybe that is something VZW learned from the Disastrous update VZW did on the SIII and then they blamed Samsung and no other carrier but VZW had problems with that update just VZW customers which had been waiting way past the other carriers customers. This update though sounds like Samsung has an issue with the new gear they come out with and the slow sale of that stuff. Good luck everyone with the updates hope it goes well for you. JCBAK I do hope you find a fix for the screen lag you acquired with the update. I know how bad everyone hates to do those resets but sometime that is all there is left to try and if you call VZW that will be the first thing they have you try.
I installed it last night and it runs fine on my phone. Much smoother over 4.2.2 and no screen lag. Maybe i just got lucky who knows. But for me here it runs well.
It's not just you. Mine installed 4.3 as well. After a quick restart, there is zero screen lag and it seems much snappier than 4.2.2. It also seems to be better at managing RAM, as Clean Master is not detecting 90% of the RAM used, like it used to. Need more time to check for sure, but so far, so good!
I'm experiencing the exact opposite.
If Verizon or someone could post a list of improvements/changes in 4.3 that would be helpful. I have found a few, but I cannot find a list of OS/Security upgrades.

As I understand it, yes. It enables access to the LTE AWS rollout for crowded areas to ease up from maxing out capacity on band 13. I suspect a lot of this has to deal with the ability for them to switch to VoLTE in the near future.
