Galaxy S6 Mobile Data Quick Setting Icon Disappeared

Sometime this afternoon my quick setting icon to turn mobile data on/off disappeared. I checked in the edit page where you can customize which icons are visible when you drag down the top border menu, but it was no longer listed in that total collection of settings either. How can I recover this icon?

Thanks everyone for providing us this information. We would like you to try using the Software Upgrade Tool to repair the software on the device. The link below will say Galaxy S4, but it will be the same steps for the S6. Make sure you backup beforehand just in case! Let us know what happens.

Unfortunately that link did not help. The icon has disappeared outright from being a quick setting option. I need to know how to recover lost icons that are no longer listed in the edit menu.

Same thing happen to me today. It was there in the morning, and the suddenly disappeared in the afternoon around 5:23pm EST 6/11/15. An it not in the quick setting edit either. My Dad and Brother's still have the Mobile Data quick toggle, but mine. Verizon please fix.

I'm glad I am not the only one. My partner also has an S6 but her icon is still accessible. I think this is a bigger issue that more people are encountering today.

This has happened to me too and I am new customer (joined a month back). The fact that the update was done without notifying us and controlling our phones is very unnerving. I dont believe I ever gave Verizon permission (on the phone or on paper) to roll out updates in the background without notifying me and in the process screw up all my settings. I hope the higher management takes notice of this and makes suitable changes.

Bring the Mobile Data toggle quick icon back for the Galaxy S6! Mine went missing after the software update. Went to the Verizon store, they couldn't help - they blamed Samsung. Went to the Samsung Experience @ Best Buy & the Samsung expert had no solution - blamed Verizon. Talked to a Verizon rep @ Costco - he said he's been getting a lot of complaints. Verizon - why are you forcing us to use a 3rd-party control to toggle data on/off? Please fix ASAP!

I just downloaded a 3rd-party control and guess what?? When I tried the mobile data toggle, I got a message saying it doesn't work with Lollipop!! So Verizon has obviously blocked this capability even with 3rd-parties. Guess that means I keep my mobile data off to make sure I don't exceed my data plan. Don't think this was a smart move on your part, Verizon.
