Galaxy S7 Edge Battery Charging Issue

About a week ago I started having issues with the battery charging very slowly. I was traveling at the time and chalked it up to car chargers and other issues with non-standard charging equipment. However I've been home for a few days and have been using my "super speedy" Samsung wireless charger, which prior to this worked great. Now I can leave it on the charger overnight and it will maybe get up to 50%. Putting the phone in safe mode offers no improvement in charging times. Right now the battery is at 30% and the projected " time to full charge, which will never happen, is 4 hours and 7 minutes. Thoughts?

We want to make sure that your device is charging correctly. Let's begin troubleshooting the device. Have you recently updated the software? Have you tried powering the device off when you charge the phone? Is there any physical or water damage to the phone or the charging port?

After update on March 30, 2017, My Galaxy S7 edge is not charging on the wireless charger at all- it will actually just keep running the battery done while it shows it's charging. the odd thing is I get this rainbow colored screen or pandora background screen. Also, if i was listening to pandora, it will start playing when i pull the phone off of the charger. I uninstalled pandora so now i only get the rainbow screen colors. The phone charges great on a usb. my wife's edge still charges correct and fast on the same wireless charger.
really don't want to factory reset. any suggestions?

Have you gone into recovery mode and clear the cache partition? This alone can take care of many issues that people are having with their phone. There are still marshmallow files in there and they do conflict with the nougat files. When you do this it does not mess up your settings on the phone but just clears out all the old files that have built up from just regular use of the phone plus the update. If you do end up doing the factory reset I would do a complete backup with smart switch or kies or sua from verizon

hguar we want to make sure your device is working properly. Do you notice the device getting hot when you are using it? Do you use the original charger that came with the device? Is there any physical or water damage?

No problem. I'd like to rule out a conflict with a third party application. Please restart in safe mode and see if it charges properly. Directions to get into safe mode are here:

in safe mode i have the same issue for wireless charging. it shows it's charging correctly but it's not charging at all. i still get this weird rainbow colored screen saver coming up too.
still charges great with usb plugged in directly. oddly, i still get the same rainbow color screen saver...

...the rainbow color screen saver is like a Microsoft active screen saver where the colors are moving and fading.....

If you go into settings-display go down near the bottom and see if screen saver is turned on.

still no wireless charging.
i just opened setting-battery-adv while on my wireless fast charger. the wireless on/off switch turns to off when i set the phone on the pad (samsung wireless charging pad) then as soon as i pull it off the pad, the switch turns back to the on position. strange
it still fast charges with direct usb

It’s never a pleasure to recommend a factory data reset, hguar. In this case, however, I feel we’ve exhausted our troubleshooting resources. How do you back up your device? If using Verizon Cloud, then make sure you’ve got a recent Last Backup using the Menu button in the upper left corner.
