Galaxy S7 Edge will NOT Activate! Help!!

I am at my wits' end with my Galaxy S7 Edge. I upgraded from an S4 and just received the new phone yesterday.

It's still NOT activated. I tried online, with the automated number, and have spoken to 5 different reps. No one can give me a straight answer for why it won't activate.

Called Verizon yesterday evening about 7pm. Spoke to and got transferred between 4 people. The last rep I spoke with yesterday evening said to turn the phone off and it should work after midnight and if not then, it will be working after 9am today. I got up at 6:30am for work this morning, and still not working.

I called Verizon at 10am. Spent a half hour on the line with customer service Then had to wait an hour for for the customer service person to talk to tech support and then call me back. I was told a system error won't let them activate my phone. Or they can't activate the phone because I have Family Base installed. Or they can't activate it because there are "pending orders" on the account that haven't been cleared. One apparent excuse after another.

The ONLY orders I had were the upgrade for my family's phones and some boxes to trade in our old phones to Verizon. That's it.

Finally I was told to wait 24 hours and MAYBE by 8PM tonight the phone would be activated. Maybe! I can't do anything at all with the phone. It has a activation required screen and that's it.

My kids both have IPhones. They put the SIM cards from their old phones into the new phones and they worked instantly. My husband also upgraded from the S4 to S7 Edge and cannot activate his phone either. We cannot swap SIM cards from our old phones because they are not the same size between the two models.

This wouldn't be a big deal except that my S4 is on its last leg. It barely charges and won't hold a charge. I need a working cell phone in case my kids need to reach me in an emergency while I am at work. I am beyond frustrated. I'm ready to just take the phones to a Verizon store, return them, and find another wireless carrier.

Please, please, help!!

You might want to take the phones to the store and have them activate the devices with a SIM card.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Ugh. I hate the thought of having to do that. I'm gone about 12 hours a day between my regular work shift, overtime and my long commute, and my local Verizon store always has terribly long waits for anything. Another phone call to Verizon this evening was useless, so unfortunately I might have to do that.
