Why Big Red Verizon is latest carrier to update in US always?
Why?
Maybe change Big Red to S Red........

Once updates are pushed, they roll out in waves. In other words, all the affected devices don't receive the update at the same time. It could be several hours/days before all devices receive the update.
They haven't always been the last carrier to release a major update for a carrier branded phone. Sometimes they're first. Sometimes in the middle of the pack and unfortunately sometimes it is close to last or last.
A First Example.

FYI the unlocked models haven't updated either.

You guys kill me with this every time. Months of where's the update posts. Then the update comes and it's months of I hate the bugs posts asking why Verizon didn't take the time to ensure it worked better.
Thanks good info....
OK not always almost always.
This time
1st Tmobile
2nd AT&T
3rd Sprint....
and what else ?
Either way, I wouldn't call them last for this particular phone model until the regional carrier models and unlocked models get the update and Verizon hasn't received it.
Big Red = Fail
If this big [Removed] red carrier doesn't release Nougat for the S7 Edge soon they *ARE* going to give me my money back and cancel my contract or I'm going to cancel their [Removed]. I keep reading about these old as dirt phones getting Nougat but a "less then year old" Samsung flagship phone can't get it?! VERIZON [Removed]! [Removed]! Get your [Removed] together now!!!!!

You guys kill me with these posts. Just be patient and then you can post all your complaints about bugs once you get the update.
Be patient ... be patient ...
No, I'm sick of being patient!
When did Google release Nougat? October 2016. We're now almost six months later and no update via Verizon. Phone updates should be monthly, but quarterly would be a step forward in the right direction.
The release cycle is ridiculous. I'm getting pretty sick of this (Samsung and Verizon). If Google releases a phone with features similar to the S7 of S8 I'll be looking at that very seriously (FYI - the phone would have to have external storage Google).
Having great quality and great delivery are mutually exclusive, only where accountability is lacking. Customers demand both. All herds get culled.
I would just like the update so my phone can get out of this beta I'm stuck in. I'm not sure verizon would open up the nougat beta for the s7 and then shut it down half way thru.
Yeah, tired of them dragging their feet. Not like we don't pay them enough. 20 year customer and can't wait for an alternative. Hoping Project Fi works out.
I have Directv and AT&T is knocking my door down to switch, the extreme delay in deploying updates in a timely fashion is a VZW trademark which I think the time has come to do something about.
I want the Nougat update as well but I'm starting to get [removed] that VZW is keeping security updates from my phone. My android security patch level shows "October 1, 2016". Would like VZW to be held accountable if some breach we're to happen that Samsung already patched but Verizon withheld the update? Not sure...

I waited for a Gear S3 Frontier smartwatch that Verizon hinted at but never delivered on. I waited and waited. Searched the forums for a hint of when they would arrive. I went ahead and got one from T-Mobile. I love the watch and the carrier. Been with Verizon for years but T-Mobile is looking pretty good. When I mentioned being courted by T-Mobile Verizon did not seem to care. I'm almost ready to break up.
See its really not the fact that it hasnt been released yet that is annoying. Its the fact that as far as I know, theres no apparatus or website to check on the status of nougat upgrade or security updates in general.
If verizon (maybe samsung too, thought I read somewhere that google was tryin to get android device manufacturers to do monthly updates at least guaranteed for a year) were more transparent about updates and what goes into incremental OS upgrades, like a weekly or monthly REPORT at least, consumers would not be spamming the community forum with the same questions. I believe Samsung galaxy S7 snd S7 edge are popular enough phones to warrant a weekly/monthly report in the very least, if verizon wants to say it cares about customers and their security.
That would be the LG G6! They have very speedy updates as well, The G5 had Nougat in December 2016, 2 months after it's release. This is typical (60-80 days after original release) for LG, unless there was a problem with the original release, or a new release (X.1) a month away.
Grumpier, we'd never want you to end up leaving the VZW family. Getting you the help you need is a must. You can keep up to date with software update information here http://spr.ly/65818Xb9h

Unfortunately that link does not help anyone in this particular thread or anyone asking about Nougat in this forum for that matter. If you truly want to help, please provide us with some real information pertaining to the question(s) at hand and that would actually be helpful. We all know that Nougat is not available for our device. The only thing answers like this do is upset people.
This is not at all helpful. I don't really care who's responsibility it is for the coding. Verizon is a large enough corporation to help/force Samsung to finish the code for this version. And with the source code being released quite a long time ago, I find it hard to believe they haven't finished testing and adding in bloatware. If cheaper and supposedly less reliable carriers can make it happen, why can't the largest? Other carriers add in bloatware too, just not as much. And the other big 3 released it within a few weeks of each other. Verizon, I don't think you get it. All we want is an update on the update. It it really is going to be months, then that doesn't necessarily mean I will switch carriers, I will just likely switch to a Pixel or something, though more likely I will switch carriers. But I think an actual estimate is fair to expect given the amount of money we pay for service, which to me includes timely software updates. If my hunch is true, which I'm pretty sure it is in this case, you are waiting to update after the S8 comes out so we have to buy the new phone to get the software update. If that is the kind of business you run, which many decisions in the past have suggested is true, you will eventually lose customers. If there really is some dramatic software issue you are working on fixing, let us know. At least then, assuming we trust you aren't just lying to us, we might have more trust in you. It wouldn't be that hard to just say that there is a tricky bug you are trying to fix or whatever the case is. But at a minimum I think it is more than reasonable to give us a REAL answer. Sending us to that useless link really well just irritate people. I guess I'm not really sure why I keep with you given that I would never recommend you to anyone, unless maybe they had an iPhone and didn't have to deal with this kind of garbage. Please let us know something real. It's the least you can do.
I'm also waiting for the update. Being in the beta program is OK, but I want the real deal. Ann154, if you provide that info, I will be grateful.
I don''t know it. The VZW reps on the site don't know it. Those that do know it, can't say a darn thing.
What do us beta testers get for signing up to be of service then? The official galaxy beta program, not some app. We haven't gotten a single thing but a hotfix for Facebook since the start...
Looks like im not the only one frustrated with no nougat update for verizon on s7 and s7 edge. In months time we all will be out of Manufacturer support and after that we are all going to have hard time if something goes wrong updating the device,
Apart from that many are considering switching carriers which is good atleast makes me confident in doing that as well, right now we have Tmobile who is offering free iphone/samsung just porting ur no and ATT on other hand is giving credits for trade in and buy one get one too and that also has nougot if u switch to same phones, plus if u wait for a month we get s8 or s8plus which is amazing deal, i think im going in right direction as well
Anyone else notice that the link the Verizon rep posted now says the latest update for the S7 and S7 Edge is today? And when you click on the S7 it takes you to a page Android Nougat OS update is now available on your Galaxy S7. I've tried checking for updates on my phone, but it still says no updates are available.
Just checked and it is downloading as I type this.
So it is out. Just keep checking.
My update to Nougat is available, but I will download it when I get home and connect to my wi-fi.
