Gmail lockout?

My Galaxy S7 did an update on Saturday then froze up. The Verizon store reset the phone and that required my gmail user name and password. I couldn't remember either one, so we retrieved the user ID and changed the password. The Gmail lock is still on and tells me I have to wait 24 hours. Is there a way to bypass this lock?

Nope, the Gmail "kill switch" tyipically requires a 24 hour wait period before being able to sign in on the device that the "untrusted" factory reset was performed on. It typically does increase to 72 hours if the GMail password was reset and you would need to wait that amount of time before able to log back in on device with the new Google password.

when you finally get back in, use the password recovery within gmail.

Hi Amber,

No I was not. Samsung didn't even try to help. They told me to go to Best Buy for a factory reset. Very frustrating!
