Has Verizon Downgraded it Network?

First, I've been a Verizon customer for more then 20 years (when it was Bell Atlantic and cell phones came in big bags).  I have always bragged about rarely dropping calls and Verizon's cell coverage.  I have lived in my home for nearly 7 years and have always used my cellphone to make and receive calls, text etc...with little problem in nearly all areas of my house.  In the last few months, however, the opposite is true...most areas of my house are now dead zones and they seem to be ever increasing.  There's been no changes in or around my house, so my only conclusion is Verizon's service has downgraded.  It's come to a point I can no longer relay on my cellphone in my home and am contemplating after so many years whether I need to find another provider...Has anyone else noticed changes in the quality of their service?

I'm assuming since your posting in the note 3 forum that is what your using. Anyway your Note 3 probably updated to KitKat in May and well if you take 5 minutes to look at this forum you'll understand why.

nerd4mit We cetailny would not want to lose your business after 20 great years . We defintiely want to get to the bottom of the service issue. First, what zip code are you experiencing the problmes in? Have you recently reached out to our technical support team to discuss the service issues?

My zip is 20707 but it appears my issue may relate to the issues with the galaxy note 3. I basically can not use my cellphone in my home.  People call me but calls don't come through at all. I can't send texts in most places in my home. This is extremely distressing and it's disturbing to see all the comments that the fixes others have been told don't work. I'm basically paying for no phone service in my home.

I want to ensure we can determine what's causing the service problems in your home.  I would like to ask you one more question.  How is service with your device when you're outdoors at your home?  Are you able to maintain a signal, make and receive calls when outside?  I just want to see if this could be a network related issue.  Please let me know so that I can further assist.  Thanks!

Is this in response to my ticket?  I spoke with Jennifer a week ago and thought I had given her all the information needed.  Please advise.  She said I should be getting a call or message with some sort of assessment.

I'm having the same issues with my Note 3 since May 2014, in the same areas that l have had no problems in before.  I rarely get 4G service, poor reception everywhere not just at home, sometimes not able to access the Web at all

I too am having a problem with my Note 3 which I have had since it's release.  After the 4.4.3 update my data quality has been terrible with frequent "no signal".  At other times it goes to 3g for no reason.  I am in Los Angeles and when I am with friends all their phones have strong reception but mine is either very very weak or has no signal at all.

A fix that works intermittently for me is to switch to airplane mode and then switch back.  This seems to reset the radios and I suddenly get a good lock for a while but after a while the same issue.  Not sure what is going on but it seems to be a software glitch.

It's high time Verizon acknowledge that there is a serious issue with the new update and the Note 3.

Thanks, bumb00! That would also make me scratch my head to wonder what is going on. After the update, did you do a reset of the phone?
Your temporary fix is a way to combat the woes, but we want a more permanent fix to help.

I am still waiting for a fix for mine.  I was supposed to get a response in a week of my first official ticket -- that was last week and then I got a text they needed for time...and so then this week I get another text that they need more time.  It is a little irritating I am paying an arm and leg for service yet I can't even use my own phone in my house.  Also, they gave me a work around for my text messages (using the verizon app which feeds into my home wireless service - which also -- BTW is through verizon and I am supposed to have their fancy high speed boost on that yet have seen no noticeable difference on that service) but that has rendered my $299 samsung watch useless when it comes to getting notified about texts because there's no verizon messaging app for my samsung watch.

The Note 3 has reception issues. Always has...Get a new phone or get used to it.

I disagree on the reception issue. Never had a single issue with my note 3 until this past May. I do agree with getting a new phone because it doesn't appear it's going to be fixed and I'd like to also add get a new carrier. Regardless of who's at fault with this issue Verizon has sickened me on the canned responses and inability to communicate the truth to its note 3 customers.

I'm gone in a month! Woooohoooooo!

Yes Verizon has decided to down grade it's network. They decided they are going back to regular old 2G despite all the billions it has spent on spectrum and tower upgrades. They decide they don't really want 100 million customers so they are hoping this move will cause most people to leave. The Verizon CEO was quoted saying "We're tired of making billions, who needs it?"
