Codfish48,

It's important that you're able to make a successful WiFi connection using your Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini device.  I would love to assist.

When did this problem begin?  Had you recently made any changes to your device like a software upgrade or installed any new applications just prior to this happening?  Try connecting to your WiFi network with the device powered up in Safe Mode: http://vz.to/1JjuQqr.  Keep me posted.

Thanks for responding... I contacted Samsung Support through live chat, and the nice lady had me boot into safe mode... Once in safe mode the WiFi worked... I thought about recent changes I had made to the phone, and remembered I had recently installed "Skyview for Android" - an astronomy app, so... I  uninstalled "Skyview" and all is well... It never occured to me an app would do something like this, so I learned a valuable lesson... Also learned how to boot into safe mode, which I never knew before...

I am having a similar issue ever since updating to lollipop (Verizon samsung galaxy s4). I've read other people having the same issue but no one has a fix. I've done a factory reset and have the same problems so I know it isn't an app.

Basically it's like my antennae is crippled. My signal is weak and I can only connect if I am very close to a network.

Ideas?

Sorry, I don't think I can help you with your issue… I am still using KitKat 4.4.2… I tracked my problem down to an astronomy app called "Shyview"…

After hearing about your issue, I think I'll stay away from Lollipop…

Thanks. I piggy backed on your post because Verizon was paying attention to

it.
