Home screen icon meanings

My Samsung Nexus home screen has many icons that I have no idea what they mean.  Is there an icon list posted somewhere?

Have you already checked the online user manual for the Galaxy Nexus phone?

You could always tap the icon to see what app it opens.

The icons at the VERY top are the ones that I don't know what they mean.  I think that they are alerts of some sort--I mush have seen 8-10 of them since I got the phone one week ago.
