How do I fix Do Not Disturb

I have programmed my do not disturb settings to turn off/on daily and it is set to allow only alarms and calls/msgs from my starred contacts. This was all transferred over when I upgraded from my S5. However, I am getting texts from other people as well. How do I set it only make noise for my starred contacts and alarms? What I've already done isn't working.

i'm not sure you can. i received a text within my dnd parameters, not from favorites & it turns out it was sent as an email to my phone number, which wasn't really a text message.

i have used the same thing from my pc to various cell numbers@vtext.com & vzwpic.com.

broncofan20 I can imagine it would be frustrating to get calls and messages from people outside your starred contacts during your do not disturb hours. Let's get to the bottom of this. When did this issue begin? Any recent software changes to your device? Do you have a Galaxy S7 or the S7 Edge?
