How do I get rid of "sending e-mail" arrow at the top of my screen?

MY phone has been trying to send an e-mail for 5 days now. I have deleted the e-mail, and everything else I can think of.

I just want to get rid of it. I don't want it to continue to keep trying to send.

Any advice?
