How do I get the unlock code to use my phone on a foreign network?

I bought my Verizon S5 in Lumberton, NC but the salesman lied when he said it was unlocked.  Now I am in the United Arab Emirates and only the gsm will work using my local sim card but not data.  How do I get the unlock code so I can use all features here?

The salesman did not lie; the phone is indeed unlocked. For the data, you need to manually enter the APN settings, which can be found in settings>more networks>mobile networks>access point names. The information on what needs to be entered there should have been included with your SIM card. If not, you'll need to contact the provider to get that information. Once entered, your data should work fine.
