How do I link my WiFi only tablet using my S3 hotspot included in my new dataplan?

I have a new Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone with 2GB of share-able data includedin my plan via a mobile hotspot. I want to know how to use that with a Samsung WiFi only (no data plan) tablet that I already have purchased on Amazon (not Verizon). I cannot seem to find that info.

I got the answer from a verizon tech rep, but thanks for your answers!

So that you can see step-by step instructions, I am sending you a link with the instructions. The Hotspot is included with your plan, and does use your data, but you do need to enable it on your phone. Once it is enabled, you will connect to the network on your tablet like any other Wi-Fi network.

You would turn on the mobile hotspot on your phone and set it up with a password (You can change the name of the network also I believe). Once it is on, go to your tablet, turn on wifi and look through the wifi networks available for that one and connect to it with the password.

um regarding mobile hotspot. On my galaxy i have mine turned off my galaxy connected to my dsl routers WIFI. I looked on phone to find my hotspot sure enough it was there entered my password been connected to my WIFI ever since now have unlimited data i do believe with wifi enabled on phone is this right Greg

If you have the unlimited data plan, I don't think the Mobile Hotspot is free, you may get charged for it. Can anyone else comment? The OP wrote that they are on the Family Share Everything plan, which the Hotspot is included.

Yes, there's a separate charge for the mobile hotspot feature if the customer is on the unlimited data plan.
