Recently someone updated/upgraded my phone to announce in a load voice the arrival of email. I did not do this before this week.
How do I shut this off for SIII, andhoid 4.1.2
Undocumented and unexplained updates has to stop.

Yes driving mode was on and the voice notifications shut off when I turned driving mode off but the whistle did not return.
Go into the email app and bring up the settings. Look for the notifiication setting and change the sound back to the one you prefer.
