I'm using email app on galaxy S8+ with microsoft exchange. I've tried the suggestions proposed to others that asked this question but I can't find an option to disable SMS sync on my email account.

Think I might have figured it out. I assume "Messages" means texts on "Sync messages"; not email. Turned that off and now we wait.
