How do I transfer text messages and photos from my previous Galaxy4 to my new Galaxy6?
5granddaughters,Great question! Having the texts and photos on the new device is a very important concern. You can use the Verizon Wireless Cloud service to back up both text messages and photos. Here is a link that will further explain the service/feature and the process to have the backup and install completed. http://vz.to/1N0Jo58 The back up will need to be completed prior to activation of the new device but will certainly help to allow for a seamless transition. I'd first ensure that the photos are backed up to a cloud service like Google Photos or to a folder on your computer and that the texts are backed up using an app like SMS Backup & Restore - Android Apps on Google Play (be sure to save copies of the text backup files to your computer) if you aren't using Verizon Messages (which should back up the texts automatically).
When you activate the S6, you should see a prompt asking if you want to transfer all content from the previous phone to the S6, with prompts of how to do so (using Samsung Smart Switch). If that doesn't work, then you can restore your photos/texts from your backups.
