Do I have to turn off my phone to stop data use, or is there a setting to put my phone on a sleep mode?
You can manually turn off the cellular data in the settings.
I am in settings, where do I find the cellular data? Is that the same as wifi?
Go to the data usage setting and turn off mobile data. You can also turn it of by app. If you are using Wifi, you are not using data.
