I have unplugged my router and have turned my phone off and back on. I have taken the batter out of the phone for about 5 minutes and then turn it back on. Once it turns on I get about 3 minutes of connection if I a lucky before it tells me I am out of range. It will then no longer show me wi-fi options in my area. I am also having issues with using the mobile data.

Are you able to connect to any other wifi network out side of your home?

Only briefly was I able to connect at my parents house. The weird part is after the few minutes it does not allow me to see any wi-fi networks.

Couple of other things to try. Adjust your router setting to something different than what you are using. Changing the channel and frequency to a different number other that auto could help you. Second if this doesn't work you should so a full factory data reset. This will set you phone back to a state when you first unboxed it. Make sure you pull the sd card and back up your data. You will want to do this anyway if you have to send in you phone for repairs because there could be a hardware problem with the wifi antennas and no amount of software settings can fix that.
Good Luck
