I have a galaxy S4 phone. Upgraded to the Lollipop OS and now I have a useless device.

The phone used the battery up pretty quickly but now it will go from 100% to 0% when sending a text, then it will shut off. Will not start up again unless I plug it in to a charger, then will show 75% battery. Yesterday, it decided to have no keyboard, for any application - so I cannot do anything on the smartphone. Also, any application seems to be stuck. Is there any hope for me or do I need to do a factory re-set. Is there any way to have the older OS re-installed on the phone?
Thanks in advance.

You can't go back to a previous OS version.

Factory reset is your best option with all of these issues.

noname07012015,
Look no further help has arrived! Updates are meant to improve your phone, not cause you headaches. Let's get your phone back to normal.
You mentioned this started after the software update. In many cases some 3rd party apps on the phone may not be fully compatible with the new software and can cause issues, liek the ones you are discribing. Have you checked to make sure all your 3rd party apps are up to date? Place the phone in Safe Mode http://vz.to/1RVOUUJ and test for a few hours to see if you notice a difference. This will disable all 3rd party apps and help determine if a 3rd party app is causing the issues. Keep us posted.
