I recently updated my s5 and now my phone restarts on its own

They claim If you power off then wait about a minute then hold the volume up button/ the home button /and the power button at the same time and when it vibes the first time let the power button go.Should take you to a screen that 1 of the options is to clear cache partition use the volume down button to high lite it then press the power button it will take you to another screen that says yes or no again use the volume down button to say yes and hit the power button once again. Then you can just reboot as normal.Hope this helps but sometimes you may not be able to get to that screen.

Updates are supposed to make your phone better, not worse. I'm sorry to hear that this update has caused your phone to restart on its own, but I'm here to help. When did you complete the software update? Do you notice any pattern with when the phone is restarting (in a paritcular app, function, etc)?

I did the update at 8am on 8/22! It was restarting on its own when I was using the I heart app. It is also running down really fast now and will just exit out of a app on its own. It also drops calls when I'm attempting to make them just like it's exiting out if apps. I had no issues before the update 😞

I know exactly what you mean my phone is so messed up there is times where it runs fine for days then out of the blue I'll pick it up and its trying to start up.It literally takes hours for it to start up. I was able to do the clear cache partition but I am not always able to get to that screen. I have talked to Verizon and Samsung about this any neither of them will take responsibility for this. I hope you have better luck with your's then I did. There is a web site Sammobile.com that has helped me understand this problem and things you can do, was a lot better than Verizon or Samsung in help.There is a lot of people who are having this very same problem maybe if enough of us get together we can Really do something about it.
