If my charger cover broke off can I still edge up?

Charger cover broke off s5... Wanting to edge up this weekend. Will this cause an issue?

Someone has asked this before and the Verizon Rep said it would be fine, however if it were me I would spend the $5 to fix it myself to ensure I'm not out 100's.

I don't believe there will be issue, but if you are worried, you can get a replacement cover very cheap off of many websites.
