Incoming calls automatically answered, Caller gets sent straight to voicemail

My and my wife both have Samsung Galaxy S5 phones and have been encountering the same issue.  Our phones will just randomly answer an incoming call but will not ring.  The caller gets sent straight to voicemail.  If the user of the phone see's that the phone call is active and try's to talk to the caller then  neither the person holding the phone or the caller will hear anything.  I have tried everything I can think of to disable this.  I even took my phone to the best buy where it was purchansed and had a guy from Samsung flash the firmware of the phone.  That did not fix anything.

Did the guy at best buy offer any suggestions on what could be causing it? Mary

I've had the exact same issue since the 4.4.4 update. I have been chasing my tail with verizon customer service and nothing has helped. Hard reset, phone was replaced, sim card replaced try this try that and nothing has helped. I have noticed it only seems to do it in my home area if i go away from my home town it has not done it, so im thinking it's one particular tower that's causing mine.

I did turn on the advanced calling that had been mentioned in other posts.  Its only been about 24 hours but it seems to be working better so far.  I'll post again if I see it happen again.

So far it seems turning on advanced calling has fixed my issues.  But then again I have a decent wifi network that I am constantly connected to at home.
