What does it mean when I click on System Updates then Status and the message says Server Unavailable.
Is it ever available?

I had the same problem with mine, it might be one of the phones that Samsung shipped that will not be able to do updates. I ended up calling Verizon Tech Support, and he checked my ESN against the list they have to see if it was listed. He said it was not, but I think it was, as he replaced my phone free of charge.
I would call them or take it to a store and have them check it against the list.

I just spoke to a Verizon rep to whom I explained my problem and that I may have a phone that cannot update.
She stated that there have not been any updates since November and that my phone had the most current version - Froyo - listed as Baseband version V.DI01. I questioned her on that and she said she didn't have a date, but Google just announced Gingerbread and that it might be out soon. Stunned I asked again if I had Froyo to which she said yes. I then said I'm confused as I was told it is not out yet and that I still have GPS Issues. She said the best way to correct that was to do the Master Reset and that I wouldn't loose any of my software. Needless to say I said thank you and hung up.

Not wanting to give up I called back and spoke to a gentleman who took his time and verified all the information I gave him. As we all know the Fascinate shipped with Version 2.1 and had an update in September to 2.1 update1. And...there are NO updates listed for this phone at this time.
He also stated that the Server Unavailable message is stating there are no updates available. And my ESN is not on the list.
