Insignia Tablet (NS-15T8LTE) w/Verizon service ... 'back' 'home' and 'recent apps' buttons disappear and won't return. Is this related to Android software?

Bought an Insignia Flex 8 Tablet (NS-15T8LTE) from BestBuy in December. Uses Verizon internet service. I have now swapped out four different tablets of the same model that all seem to have the same problem. After minimal use, the strip across the bottom of the screen with 'back' 'home' and 'recent apps' buttons disappears. Also the strip across the top showing wife and cell service and battery use disappears.

Insignia Products company said it is something to do with the Android operating system (just updated to Lollipop 5.1).

Has anyone else had this occur? Is there a fix for this? Neither BestBuy nor Insignia will fix this. I can only swap out for a different tablet of the same model. Having had four units already all with this problem, I don't have any high hopes any future swaps will help either.

Help is here for you jrichar9. We want to make sure that we get this going for you. When you get the tablet replaced how long does it take for these items do disappear? After performing the master reset, is it still malfunctioning or does it come back over time?
