I have a Galaxy S4 phone which is global-ready. I live in the USA. While I am out of the USA, do my contacts who remain in the USA need to add any special prefixes to my phone number to call or text me?

I hope you have safe travels, jimwar49. Your contacts won't need to dial anything special unless you're using a local SIM from the country you're visiting. While using the Verizon SIM, your mobile number stays the same. When people call you, they will be calling/charged as if you're here in the U.S. You'd need to dial special to call them and you would incur the international roaming charges for calls placed/received though. Check out www.vzw.com/global for all the details you'll need for any trip.
