Is This Pink Vertical Line On My Device A Common Defect?

Hello,

A few days ago a pink vertical line appeared on the right side of my display. I've only had this device since October, as I decided to exchange my Note7 for the S7 Edge. Apparently, after doing some research on Google, this seems to be a common defect with this device. One temporary fix is to push lightly near the right side of the Samsung logo on the top of the phone. However, eventually the pink vertical line will reappear. My device is still in great condition and I treat it with care so this is disappointing to say the least. Will I be able to exchange it in store with a new device free of charge? Thanks.

I went to a Verizon corporate store and explained to the employee about the issue I was having. He performed a screen test on it and determined that it was eligible for an exchange. Verizon is sending me what they call a "certified new" device through the mail.

From what I understand these are devices that were brand new and were used by a customer for a very short amount of time (maybe two weeks). Honestly, I just want a device that works at this point so hopefully I won't face the same pink line issue as I did with my old S7 Edge.

I did not contact Samsung directly about this issue.

No you can't exchange it months later free of charge. You should contact Samsung directly for your warranty repair options including sending the phone to them for repair.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I too have seen a lot on this vertical line showing up on the s7 and the edge. Seems this starting to be a common problem in a lot of different forums that I have seen.Have you gotten in touch with Samsung they are aware of it and I have seen where they have sent out new phones but some of them have done the same thing again.I have a s7 edge myself and would be interested in their responses to you.Could you please keep us posted on what happens?
