Is it possible to adjust volume of apps individually?

My audiobook app's volume is much lower than the navigation app. Is there a way to control the volume of the apps individually? I can adjust classes (Media, System, Notifications, etc.) but it appears both of these apps fall under the "Media" class so I can't control them independently. Any suggestions?

are you writing your own app or using a app someone else developed?
There is no way to control apps individually without root access.
If you wrote the app yourself then you will have to change the sound volume for it to come out louder.

Someone else's app. It doesn't have a specific "boost volume" function. Best I can do is use its equalizer to bump up the levels on all frequencies. I have a feeling I'm just going to have to boost the volume in the audiobook files. The weird thing is I didn't have this problem on my GNex playing the same audiobook with the same player.
Maybe there's an app that can compress the volume on the fly, boosting low levels and reducing high levels.

Haven't played with the S5(I do have one) yet. Been working on the HTC One (M8) at work.
