Issue after issue.

I have never had as many issues with a phone than this S3. It is been a problem since day one.

To start it never has any service. I can be next to other Verizon users and they have full 4G service. I do good to have 1 bar of 4G, if not just 3G service. Constant call drops, message send fails, and web pages won't load. I have master reset more times than I can count. No change. I have called Verizon, they have reset my phone in the tower data base (whatever that means). They have also supposedly sent some techs to my tower area.

Next problem, this recent update. Same problem as everyone else with this back space issue, When my back space works, it deletes too much, if not everything.  Also the clear or back button. If on an app, or the internet, say you want to go back one page you would normally tap the clear/back button next to your home button. Well instead of mine going back one page it just closes whatever app or internet is open. Same for home button, if you are looking at something on the internet and click home button so you can go back to the internet page in a few seconds, if just closes the internet completely.

The display is the only thing on this phone that is worth having. Wished I still had my Razr.

This phone would be tolerable if I could remove the latest update. Anyway to do this?

Sorry, no way to go back once you do an update, it makes it the default OS of the phone.

Just to clarify things, the 1-4 bars on the top are for the voice signal, not data strength. Data signal is either 4G, 3G, or 1x .

mprc911, sorry to hear about your signal woes.  My wife's GS3 has problems keeping a signal for a conversation in low/marginal signal areas while the Motorolas in the family don't seem to have a problem in the same spot.  In low+ (good-) to excellent signal areas she has no problems.  Just seems to be the nature of Samsung phones.  Otherwise the GS3 is a fantastic phone.

On the Internet problem are you saying that when on a web page and touch Home then go back and touch Internet/browser icon it does not take you back to the page you were on previously?

My understanding of signal bars is a little different from Droid Usr.  If the notification area displays 4G then the bars represent the 4G signal, if 3G then 3G signal, and if 1X then it's the 1X signal strength.  If blue then you have a cell tower connection and are also connected to Google sync.  If white/gray then you have a cell tower connection, but are not connected to Google.  Same blue/gray color holds for WiFi too.  If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

Hello mprc911,

Thank you for sharing your concern with your Galaxy S III. This is easily one of the most popular smartphones on the market for a vairety of reasons. I know that you past experience may have been super frustrating. Rest assured as I am here to save the day. I want you to enjoy all of the wireless functionalities that this device has to offer. May I ask what city, state, and zip code are you in? First, I would like to verify if there are any network enhancements that may be affecting your service. Next, if you can provide me with your software, baseband, and kernel version on the S III. Below are the steps on how to get this info.

Settings > About Phone.

Can I assume that there isn't any physical or liquid damage on the device? If so then that could have an impact on the device's performance. If you prefer to have this issue addressed privately then feel free to send me a private message with your full name, mobile number, and a brief summary of the issue so I can customize a solution for you.

Thank you...

Hey there, I have had the phone replaced since this message was created.

I am 100% sure that it is a service problem in my area, I do not know

why more people have not called in to complain about the problems, but

I know of several people having the same problems. In the Springfield, Tn

area, Robertson county. I used to have full 4G service. Now I do good to

have 2 bars inside the city limits. Everyone I know with Verizon is having

the same issues. Constant dropped calls, and message send failures.

<Personal information removed for privacy per the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service.>

I can provide several other numbers for people having the same problems.

Thanks..

Samsung is known to have weaker antenna than other makes, I have some drops also in low sig areas that I had not had with other phones. As far as the update, good luck and welcome to the Dissatisfied crowd.
